In Spanish we use qu instead of the c before "e" and "i" to have the sound corresponding to "k".

pescar (present)
pesqué (preterite)
poco + ito = poquito

If you write pescé, maybe it's a different word. And if you write pocito, it could be the diminutive of pozo.

And we never write q alone. It 's always followed by the vowel "u": quiero, que, etc. qiero and qe are misspelt words.

Then your thread should have been named "the usage of qu" because in Spanish we never write "q" alone.
