Is the same, for example, you use "Which/Cual" to ask about a choice when you have a lot of opportunities about that and you ask to the other person, which prefer or which he/* choose. And you use "What/Que" to ask about the meaning of something, here you have some examples:

¿Qué es eso? -------------- Está preguntando acerca del significado de alguna cosa.
