I chat with some guys from Uruguay, I am North American, and they seem to type things as I would expect a 13 year old North American girl to type them. eg. gm, tx, thx, cya, bbl, yw. So, I asked them if when they type their chat in spanish, they type "dn", as in De Nada, like they would type "yw", as in You're Welcome. They would not, and they acted as if I had asked an extremely ridiculous question. Although I have little appreciation for that sort of type at any time, especially in a business environment, I do accept it and I move on. I am though curious enough to bring this quagmire to the internet community, as it seems that working with North Americans, and picking up on the chat type styles addressed to them, they are impressed with the idea that this is the way that one is expected to type english chat, whether or not in a business environment. If someone can shine some light on this, I will appreciate it and, I think that it may spark some interesting conversation.

Hi everyone!

Okie so this monday, my Spanish group and I will be presenting this skit in Spanish class. I was suppose to have my Spanish teacher correct the script on Friday, but unfortunately I wasn't in school that day. None of my group members gave her the script to correct neither ><;; I really want a good score on this script...the only thing I am concerned about is the grammar. =X

If you can, please read through the script and correct the grammar...You don't have to rewrite it to make it "perfect" because my class might not understand the vocab/verb tense.

Hi Everyone,

I am looking to start learning Spanish, and would like to know a good beginning point. I am pretty busy, so I don't have a lot of time to take classes or lessons. Also, I studied French for 7 years up until 11th grade in high school, so I have some idea of the grammar and general structure of the language. I would like to pick up a book that will be a good refresher and overview on the language, and then try build up my vocabulary. Does anyone have advice on where to start or a really good book to begin with? Thanks!

Para uno, voy a estudiar inglÃ©s como idioma segunda y como puede ayudar personas que no hablan inglÃ©s sin usar su idioma nÃ¡tiva. Pienso que tengo tantos libros para eso proyecto, pero tambiÃ©n quiero hacer un proyecto sobre las palabras ingleses que vienen del espaÃ±ol. Como "hombre" y "chao," por supuesto, pero Â¿viene "televisiÃ³n" de inglÃ©s o espaÃ±ol? Help Needed Translating Song Lyrics

I am a musician, and I'd like to try a few Spanish language songs. I've translated some songs in German, which is easy to do and have it still rhyme, since it's so close to English. I have trouble with Spanish though, since it's so different from English. I have one song that I think would be awesome to do a Spanish language version. It's "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak. I want to make it rhyme, while at the same time have it retain the original meaning of the lyrics, and still make sense. I've figured solutions for a few lines but there's some I'm REALLY stuck on. Since I speak Spanish, but am not totally fluent and a native speaker, I got to thinking I better consult some experts. Since translations can be really different in regards to music and poetry, and even if I did figure it out, it may sound kind of odd to native speakers if I didn't do it right!

Does anyone know of a way to translate this while keeping the meaning and making it rhyme in the same places? I would really appreciate it. In return, I promise to send an mp3 of the song after I record it in Spanish to you! Thanks!!!

I've never taken any Spanish classes, but from individual word translations I get
"for my island my godfather I am crossing"
I kind of made up the "I am" part, but it makes more sense to me.

How Are You Confusion

I thought

Como Esta Usted was "how are you" and that is what I have been saying.

On one of my podcasts they say something like "Que Tal" and I was wondering what the difference is please.

When i translated it it wasnt "how are you" and now I am confused
