I don't think there is a direct translation; we just say things like "it was really embarrassing" or "I didn't know where to look".

How about "hick"?

Or, "I was embarrassed for (whoever)".

Muy nice, che. Pero creo que hay dos formas principales de traducir "vergüenza ajena"
1- To feel embarrased for somebody
2 - To feel (the) shame for somebody re: I felt the shame he brought uponhimself/ for what he did. Sometiemes: we all share in his shame.

Esas son las expresiones idiomáticas que más se ajustan, me pare.

Oscar

"Yokel"?
We used to describe street-corner loiterers as "Local pukes with their hands in their pockets". Some connection to "-kicker", I suppose.
