There are three little paragraphs, I can only get a few vocabs, but some grammars are really difficult to understand, especially when I haven't learned them in class yet.
I want to check if I did it right...

1) On Wednesday nights, Adela Perez Rivas, a Guatemalan student who is living at UBC this winter, invites a group [grupo] of her friends to her apartment. They usually arrive [generalmente] at 7:00pm and talk about many things, their jobs, their exams, their plans [planes]

2) Tonight they want to talk about their New Year's Eve party. Pablo, a twenty year old blond boy [a blond boy who is twnety] and who is in Adela's literature class, always arrive late because he has to work until 7:30.

3) "I think we must talk about the party first," says Pablo. "We need to know [saber] how much money we have and who is going to do what ... Who is going to prepare food, organize [organizar] the music ... I also want to invite [invitar] my neighbours and my cousins ...

I haven't learned how to use ___ who is __

Any help is appreciated!!

Thank you! Smile

Hi, aurae,

>a Guatemalan student who is living at UBC this winter,

Un estudiante Guatemalteco que está viviendo en UBC este invierno,

>a twenty year old blond boy [a blond boy who is twnety] and who is in Adela's literature class

Un chico rubio de veinte años [un chico rubio que tiene veinte años] y que está en la clase de literatura de Adela

>We need to know [saber] how much money we have and who is going to do what ... Who is going to prepare food,

Necesitamos saber cuánto dinero tenemos y quién va a hacer qué... Quién va a preparar comida,

Saludos :)

Thank you so much, what what is the difference between que and quién?

Is it because que is for just singular and quién is for addressing one person in a group of people?

Thank you again!

Que is used for things and quien is used for people. However quien is only used with phrases such as "para quien". Do not forget that when using quien and que in questions, you add the accent

¿Para quíen es este regalo?

¿Qué ocurrió aquí?

Que is used for things and quien is used for people. However in a sentence, you don't use quien (as shown above). Quien is only used with phrases such as "para quien". Do not forget that when using quien and que in questions, you add the accent

¿Para quíen es este regalo?

¿Qué ocurrió aquí?

We use "que" to introduce a subordinate sentence and "quién" as Malta said, when we are asking something. (Look at the accent in the last word) :)
