Subjunctive vs Indicative

I'm learning that you usually use the subjunctive after this form like

No conozco a un profesor que tenga una cabeza grande.

But, what about

No conozco al profesor que tenga una cabeza grande.

Should that be tenga or tiene?  I was thinking that you know the professor exists, just not sure who it is, so I think maybe I should have put tiene on that 2nd one.

Any ideas?

You're right. The first sentence is a supposition, there may be and there may be not a professor. The second one is factual, there IS one professor who has a big head.
