AnonymousYES THAT IS TRUE IN
LATINAMERICA WE DO NOT USE VOSOTROS JUST IN SPAIN AND
SOMETIMES IN ARGENTINA.
Excuse me Anonymous, but this is not true.
In Latinamerica we all learn also the vosotros forms, though
we never use them
(only the priests in church or teachers, sometimes!). We know that this
is used in Spain; the language wouldn't be complete without it,
especially if we know or learn some other language which has it, p.eg.
french, italian, german ...
The form used in Argentina and in some other countries is
vos and is not a substitute for vosotros but for
tú.
It is true that the verb forms used with vos are slightly different
from the ones used with tú, but not identical with the vosotros.
So anyone learning spanish
must learn also the vosotros,
in my humble opinion, because else the laguage would be missing
something very much alive and used. As if you would recommend someone
learning english to say and write: i go, u go, he go (sic), just
because there are people doing this.
Por favor, no se tomen a mal mis comentarios.
Saludos
Isabel
