Hello, My boyfriend is in prison right now, and he is very interested in learning latin american spanish. I was wondering which spanish courses would be the best to order for him? He can get books, cassetts and worksheets. Any idea's would be greatly appreciated!

Nicole,

sorry to hear about your situation. I began learning spanish with the michel thomas 8 part standard course, then the 4 part advanced course.  when I later started a formal classroom course I was quickly moved up from year 1 to 2, and i'm told i'm one of the best students inthe class. They even suggested moving me up to yr 3, but i feel comfortable at the current level - not bad from 12 CDs and a bit of reading :)

michel's pronunciation is primarily latin american rather than castillian, which makes him an ideal choice in this case.

learning together might also be helpful.

bienvenido, y buena suerte :)
