I bought the introductory program a few years ago.  It is pretty good, but I find that I learn better by other means, not by computer software.  I heard Rosetta Stone advertized on the radio a lot lately.  La compañía debe tener mucho dinero para avisos.

¡Hasta Pronto!

I have heard of it quite a bit but I didn't recall using it. Then I had a look at the site, tried the demo and remembered I had seen it before. I remember trying their programme to learn some Chinese (I think my grandmother has it, she still likes to learn languages). It seems fairly good but just how good at all levels I don't know.

I have heard of that program. I don't know if it is any good or not. Usually some programs give you the word mearnings but they never give you the right pronounciation or none at all.

I don't know if Rosetta Stone has this but some programmes have a pronunciation part where you speak into a microphone and it compares what you said to what a 'native speaker' would say.  I remember once where some English teacher friends and I tried this with a English Learning Programme and none of us got the accepted level even though we are native speakers ourselves from different countries.

I prefer programs that give you the meaning AND the pronunciation. It is helpful to hear it even if it is incorrect. Keep in mind, if we know the basic sounds of the letters, we should be able to decipher the word. The problem I have is trying to remember where the sound of the accent goes. If we hear the word spoken, we are more likely to remember what syllable has the accent.  I know about the written accent, it is the unwritten accent where I have a problem. I know there are rules for this too.
