Pronouncing the double R sound?

that has to be the hardest thing to do with an american accentttttt!!!

i was taught this song but im still not pronouncing it right.

erre con erre cigaro, erre con erre barril

rapido corren los carros, los carros de ferrocarril

i probably have said that 2000 times and i am still not pronouncing it right.

what has happen though is when i say rapido corren los carros, los carros de ferrocarril i feel a vibration in my mouth.

is that feeling supposed to be there??

i only feel it on that part though, i dont feel it on the first part.

and one more question.

have you ever heard of any native spanish speaking people not being able to pronounce the double R sound???

i wonder if that is possible.

It's completely normal that you feel that vibration, it is a sign that you're doing it right. If you wonder whether you're doing it right or not anyway, you can post a recording here and we will tell you.

To your second question, I doubt that is possible. It's like the "h" in English. "H" in "hello" - Most Spanish speakers would pronounce it as if it were a Spanish "j", while it's not. Do you think an English speaker would mispronounce a "hello"? Emotion: smile

Muchos niños sustituyen el sonido /r/ por el de /L/ sucede así hasta que tienen unos 7 años y luego se arregla, pero hay adultos que jamás pueden llegar a pronunciar /r/.

thats something u have to practice, like walking

you cant crawl until u 23 and think u going to start walking

should of started walking at 1

thats how im feeling about pronouncing the R

Don't worry! I heard many English native speakers who can pronounce this sound perfectly because they learned the way to do it.

The most difficult sound to pronounce are those which are similar to Spanish sounds (like p, k, t).

im actually on google now and have read some interesting things. couple people are saying its a tongue muscle you have to build up and a way to work that muscle is repeating this....."butter butter butter ladder ladder ladder butter ladder butter ladder" numerous times through out the day. i did it for about 2 minutes and realized that my tongue was really getting a work out, it was getting tired. so maybe i have to build my tongue up first!!

There are some people whose tongues are not flexible.They cannot pronouce other languages properly except their mothertongue .Even if they speak there remains the accent of that particular language.This phenomena of tongue is to some extent in born .Practice may change them to some extent but not completely.

well ... I suppose double r is a difficult sound, many people (Spanish speakers I mean) have problems to pronounce it in their childhood.

sobretodo en los paises donde mas influyo la conquista española

cuba creo que no pronuncian mielda en vez de mierda
