walla“Hola Arturo! Como estas?
I too am just starting to learn Spanish and came here to try to improve my conversational skills. If you ever want to practice with another beginner, just let me know.
Hasta pronto!

This is such a cool place!. What an incredible opportunity. I took two years of Spanish 1 <grin> as a kid in high school and always wanted to get serious about the language. I always thought the key was having someone to practice with. I have no one. So I looked online and found all of you here so willing to help. This is awesome!
I have an extreamly limited vocabulary. I have been flipping back and forth between a translator at Google to find words but I am sure it makes for some very broken spanish. Hopefully with practice (and some correction by those who know -- mi mestroes y myestras aqui) I will get better. I really appreciate your offer to help! I hope I can return the gift of learning to you as well! So...
Eres estudiante o to ir trabajo?
Muchos gracias Casey,
Arturo

I am in a similar situation as you. I took 3 years of Spanish in high school, and then took about an 8 year break from it. I recently started taking a course in an effort to reaquaint myself with the language and learn how to speak the language fluently. However, it meets only once a week so the pace of the course is pretty slow.
I find that outside of class, this is probably the best way to learn and practice Spanish short of traveling to Mexico, so that's why I'm here. Like you, my Spanish vocabulary is limited, so I find myself using Alta Vista Babelfish translator and Word Reference.com as a dictionary a lot.
Yes, I hope we can help each other learn here. I also hope that fluent speakers reading our posts will jump in and correct our mistakes, since we probably will both need the help :)
Soy un estudiante graduado de inginero computadora, pero trabajo a la escuela tambien. Y tu? donde trabajas?
