junto a vs. junto con

What is the difference between "junto a" and "junto con"?

Could you translate it in English or give some examples so that I could understand it better?

 junto a = next to, by

 está junto al sofá.

 it's next to the sofa.

 junto con = with, together with.  

he came together with us.

él vino junto con nosotros.
