I'm writing a letter to my cousin in El Salvador, and dont know how to translate the word "degree", as in "college degree". Please help (thanks).

Here is my sentence:

I'm very happy to hear that you want to get a degree.

Oh and how do you say "high school"? I think its "bachiyerato" or something like that, right?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I can help you translate a part of the text:

Estoy muy feliz oir que quieres un degree (I don't know the word for degree, sorry.)

Estoy muy contento/feliz de que quieras terminar tus estudios.

Nico, subjunctive is required in this sentence.

Degree: licenciatura, but only if we are talking a bout university studies.

High School: bachillerato

I'm very happy to hear that you want to get a degree.    "want to get a degree" - What does it mean? That your cousin wants to go to university?  In that case, I would say "Me alegra mucho que quieras ir a la universidad".

Oh and how do you say "high school"? I think its "bachiyerato" or something like that, right?        Something like that, yes, it's "bachillerato" as they have said before. Smile

Thanks in advance for any help!
