1. This is a filling-in blank question. A Juan y yo nos __ (gustar) jugar y mirar la television.   I put 'gustan' since there are two activities-'jugar' and 'mirar'. But my teacher said you only looked at 'jugar', so it's singular, you didn't need to look at 'mirar'. So I am a little bit confused.

2. Mi profesora favorita es inteligente. Here 'profesora' only refers to female teacher?  Same here, Mi mejor amigo es simpatico/a? Does 'amigo' here only refer to male good friend? So that I must use feminine adjective?

Hope you can help me, thank you.

Remember the verb always goes with the subject and not with the actions this one does!

2. Mi profesora favorita es inteligente. Here 'profesora' only refers to female teacher? "Profesora" here refers to that concret teacher, she is female. Same here, Mi mejor amigo es simpatico/a? Does 'amigo' here only refer to male good friend? No. It refers to your best friend, you can only have one best friend, so, again, it refers to a concret person.

Hope it helps, Mia!:)

Thanks. But my teacher said 'gustar' always depends on the object. If the object is plural, then it should be 'gustan'. For example, Me gustan los manzanas.  For 'mejor amigo', it doesn't only refer to male best friend, right? can I write: Mi mejor amigo es simpatica?

MIA6, what is your level of Spanish? Spanish 1? I'm just wondering.

For now, I'm just going tell you that this sentence is correct: A nosotros (Juan y a mi) nos gusta ver la televsión y salir a la playa (or whatever :) ).

Mejor amigo:  should only refer male best friend. Mi mejor amigo es simpático.

Mejor amiga: should only refer female best friend. Mi mejor amiga es simpática.

Hey Mia!

It should have been "A Juan y a mi nos gusta"    - I wonder what I was thinking about yesterday!

Sorry, I am the queen of the mistakes!

You use "gusta" because it's not in plural.

You can split the actions --> A Juan y a mi nos gusta ir al cine y jugar a las cartas.                    - > La frase está unida por un nexo coordinante.
A Juan y a mi nos gusta ir al cine.  A Juan y a mi nos gusta jugar a las cartas.

To your second question, my answer is "no". Don't forget that in Spanish we have genders. So, "amigo" only refers to males, so, it should be "Mi mejor amigo es simpático". However, if you want to say it to a girl, "Mi mejor amiga es simpática".

Sorry for the mistake, again!
