Entonces, cuando la puerta aun esta entreabierta y por ella se cuela la claridad del pasillo, la mama de Dario se sienta en el borde de la cama y comienza, como todas las noches, a contarle, ternurna y sueño. ok something to do with when the brown door is slightly ajar and ..(have now lost the bit of paper that i tried to translate this on and cant remember what i had written!) would love to hear interpretations again... gracias todas!

Then when the door is ajar and  by the strains of  brightness of the corridor, the mother of Dario sits at the age of the bed, like every  night, to strart telling ternurma and dream.

My try:

Then, when the door is still ajar and the brightness of the corridor slips through it, Dario's mother sits at the edge of the bed and begins, like every night, to tell him, tenderness and dream.

I don't understand either. There's seems to be something missing and some kind of conjunction to link it to ternura y sueño:
como todas las noches, a contarle, (¿contarle qué?) ternura y sueño.

I must confess that I have some difficulties in ternura y sueño too; as Latin said it seems something's wrong with the commas!

eh.. my try:

Then, when the door still ajar and seep through it the brigthness of the corridor, Dario's mother sits on the edge of the bed and she starts, as everynight, telling him, tenderness and dream (or maybe sleepiness)
