I too am looking for audio books/files that I can download onto an MP3 player to test my proficiency. Anybody know of any sources for this stuff?

Es mejor hablar español un poco que hablar nada. Entonces por lo menos puedo entender mucho más personas.

You can surf this website: http://redgeomatica.rediris.es/elenza/index.html and you will find some audio files in the section Audio (http://redgeomatica.rediris.es/elenza/materiales/audio/index.html). You can also read the tapescript or the instructions in the PDF file provided with the MP3. Unfortunately the varieties are often Spanish from Spain (español peninsular).

Enjoy the audios!

Saludos

I am here to learn from each other. Usa la opción de insertar símbolos (symbols) si tu teclado no tiene caracteres en español.

Gracias!

Just what I was looking for. Although I practice Castellano as opposed to peninsilar(sp?) both sources are very useful. :)
