Hi I'm from the UK and am very interested in learning Spanish I am concerned as I am from the UK and for 90% of the time I would be visiting European Spanish speaking countries rather than Latin American e.g. Mainland Spain/Canary Islands I was just wondering if anyone could throw any light on what the differences are between the European and Latin American Spanish and am I likely to run into difficulty if I learn Spanish from Latin American based material and try to speak Spanish in Europe.

Any help would be much appreciated
