thanks, machavelli, pucha, malta, greatly for the suggestions. I know how to construct spanish, and to put it together, as I grew up with my parents speaking it to me and only trying to get me to the language. My grandparents then told them that It would be better only knowing English, so they started talking to me in english..

Hi Anon,

Then, you have most of the language known!;) You only need a bit of practice!! By the way, if your parents know Spanish, would be much more easier for you to lear it!!:D:D

Good luck!

holaaaaaaaa/// como esta... if this is your first language your learning it might be hard, but it just takes time, just be sure to ask, when your unsure, and like other people suggested, read books, and listen to  how other people speak it. One thing i noticed about spanish, is that its really straight to the point... its almost how little kids speak.. like no me don't want anything.... get waht i mean??

Hi Alex: Your grandpa advice is just the truth. I'm from Peru and I speak fluent spanish. I remember when I use to study english my teachers told me to forget about spanish and think in english, I think the same rule plays for all the languages. I know is dificult but you can do it. One of the things that can help you is listening spanish music, pick one that you like and I will translate for you in english, then sing it at home, when you drive, when you go for a walk,  in that way you will learn alot of words very easy. Another thing is do not to feel afraid of talking. If you find somebody to speak with in spanish, talk and listen and ask the person to tell you how was yout pronunciation and if it was not good ask them to say that word or sentence again. Latin people are very nice when it comes to teach our language so don't feel afraid of asking or talking.

Bye!

I learned Spanish using a good grammar book at first then using a forum like this.

I like to solve my questions using resources.

I suggest that you listen to songs in spanish, such as Shakira, Ricky Martin, etc.
That's a fanny way to learn.

Some people respond better to interactive learning or audio learning as oppose to learning from books. You'll need reading, writing and oral skills eventually, but I'd suggest trying a good audio course

Try this one for starters... Spanish With Michel Thomas
